Area 1 Leadership Camp

 Three students from the Gruver FFA attended the Area 1 Leadership Conference June 23-25.  The students that attended were Jacob Lieb, Shelby Wagner and Lynn Vela.  Lynn Vela was elected as an Area officer in May and she now serves our Area as one of six Area officers.  During this camp she put on a leadership workshop for approximately 300 students from Lubbock north.   She will serve in this capacity until next May and will be part of many different activities the FFA will be doing in the upcoming school year.  The 300 students were led in ten different workshops that dealt with all different aspects of leadership training.  West Texas A&M and Texas Tech University also attended the conferences and talked to the students about what each school had to offer the students upon graduation. The Area camp is a way for students to engage with other kids around the Area and help build leadership skills that they can take back to their local chapters.  Jacob, Shelby and Lynn all had a great time.
