Welcome to Gruver Independent School District! It is an incredible honor to serve as your superintendent, and I am excited to begin this new chapter with such an outstanding school district and community.
At Gruver ISD, our mission is to provide exceptional educational opportunities to every child in a safe and nurturing environment that will produce responsible, productive, and successful citizens. Our students are at the heart of every decision we make. While we proudly embrace our conservative, rural values and rich traditions, we are also committed to preparing every student for success in an ever-changing world through innovation, high expectations, and meaningful opportunities.
What makes Gruver truly special is the unwavering support of this community. Since at least 1930, Gruver has rallied around its schools, investing in the success of each generation of students. You see that commitment every day through the tremendous support of our academic, athletic, fine arts, and extracurricular programs.
One of the most unique examples of that support is the Gruver Farm Scholarship. First awarded to the Class of 2016, this one-of-a-kind program is made possible through the generosity of local farmers, businesses, volunteers, and community members who donate their time, labor, equipment, and resources to produce the annual corn crop. The scholarship has become a lasting testament to this community’s belief in its students and its commitment to helping them pursue their dreams beyond graduation.
I begin my first year at Gruver ISD with 20 years in public education and administrative experience at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as a high school principal for 11 years. Throughout my career, I have learned that great schools are built through strong relationships, a shared vision, and communities that put children first. I am excited to partner with our outstanding Board of Trustees, dedicated staff, supportive parents, and incredible students as we continue the tradition of excellence that defines Gruver ISD.
My wife, Ashly, is beginning her 15th year in education and will serve as the District Testing Coordinator while working out of Gruver Junior High. We are grateful to become part of the Greyhound family. Our son Jax will be a sophomore, Collier will be a seventh grader, and Callahan will be a sixth grader at Gruver ISD this year. Our oldest son, Noah, will begin his freshman year at Texas Christian University this fall. As both educators and parents, we understand the trust families place in our schools, and we are honored to have our own children learning alongside yours.
Thank you for visiting our website. Whether you are a current family, prospective student, alumni, or community member, we are grateful for your interest in Gruver ISD. If you have questions about our schools or are considering joining the Greyhound family, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
I am excited to be a part of Gruver ISD and look forward to serving this incredible community. Together, we will honor the traditions that have made Gruver special while preparing every Greyhound for an even brighter future.
Go Greyhounds!
